Sooo.. earlier this month, my bro & his fam along with my uncle/aunt/cousin all flew over from texas. It was AWESOME to see them all here to help celebrate mel's sweet sixteen and all that other good stuff. Things were pretty crazy up here trying to get everything settled so sneaking out of the house was tough. We did fortunately one outting into the city where we drove around and did touristy stuff from the car since it was POURING rain. Also we were able to sneak out of the house and check out the maritime museum in SoNo which was dope.

Mel's sweet sixteen overall was pretty good I'd say. Being that all the fam from all over were able to come together and celebrate was great!

After a crazy weekend of partying, reality stuck and I'm officially a member of the American Work Force (again). After one year of being unemployed (which was fantabulous), my internship at Mount Sinai Hospital had begun. Together with 14 other domestic nursing students from all different parts of this country and 6 exchange students from Korea was our group of SNI's this summer. The group of people are pretty cool and I can't help but think how lucky I was to be chosen to be part of this. I've met some awesome peoples in the last two weeks!

The orientation began and was exactly what any other orientation is, boring! Policies out the wazoo! I was excited though to learn that I was being taught venipuncture and am able to draw blood from patients. After so much orientation I finally made it to the floor this past Thursday where I was finally able to do my thing. I was a bit anxious about working my first 12.5 hour shift but it really wasn't as long as I thought it would be and I actually felt more tired after Fay's clinical than I did on Thursday. W00T! So if you ever come down to Mt. Sinai, come visit me on GP10E (GI Care Center).

Yesterday, I spent the entire day with Miss Cheryl. After dropping off the fajah at Honda, I headed out over to her crib and picked her up for an adventure into where else but New Jersey. We quickly took care of a few errands at the mall and headed out to IHOP! The last time I was @ IHOP was actually with her when she got back from London which was about Chritmastime. I was hoping to have funnel cake but I guess they don't do that nomore =( and ended up with some flavor infused french toast. To me, it tasted more like a really sweet donut and ended up saving it for after my eggs and bacon.

From there Cheryl had decided she wanted to go to BLD so I decided to come along. I sped back over to my house, put on some pants and then picked up Cheryl's car. Of the how many years I've known her, it was the very FIRST time I actually rode in the car when she was driving. We both found it hard to believe but I guess I've always drove everywhere.

She had commented on how she was a good driver and literally not even 5 minutes after we got into the car a deer ran out in front of the car! It was kind of funny since it was raining and the deer ran out, got the shit scared out of it and fell running across the road ahahahhaa.

Our adventure continued as we hitup Short Hills mall since we would've been WAY too early for BLD. Walked around for a bit and admired the Porsche & Bentley's sitting right inside the mall, as well as this dope sweater that I want from Puma but was WAY out of budget (oh well). Being in that mall was too rich for my blood and I found myself having a Venti-Sized Iced Caramel Machiatto instead. YUM!

After Cheryl got word from Mart, we headed to his crib to pick him up and finally head to BLD. I used to go to BLD back in senior year in high school and I vaguely remembered how the whole night went along until tonight. I used to attend Youth worship back in the day and tonight I went to the Singles. Quite an experience to hear everyone share their stories and how Jesus had helped them make it through the week to wake up another day.

BLD ended and the night got interesting. I found out we were all heading to Sommerset for a BLD after party at Ron's Crib. It turns out it was practically in New Brunswick, right next to Robert Wood. After all that praying, whats the best way to end the night by taking SHOTS! ahaha. Neither Cheryl or I have been to a BLD after party but I think not a better way to close out a night of praying. woot! The night came to a close quickly as both Cheryl and I knew it was time to head home. We left there at 130am and didn't get back to her place till 2.45 and I still have to drive home so I really didn't get home till 3am! We were soo far down the turnpike it was crazy (Exit 9!).

Anyways, thanks everyone for a good time last night and good looks to Ron for opening up his place for everyone to get smasheeddd. W00T!
